Balt and Best-Rite have been manufacturing quality commercial and educational products for several decades and have been operating under a new organizational name, MooreCo Inc., since 2007.
Located in Temple, Texas, MooreCo Inc. is the leader in the educational and commercial markets for visual communication products, technology support equipment and office furniture. With state of the art equipment, highly trained employees, and an excellent shipping history, MooreCo Inc. has established a solid reputation for quality and reliability.
The origination of the MooreCo Inc. began in 1985 with the creation of Balt by Lorraine Moore. The emerging printer market was in demand of high quality, multi-functional printer stands and under the leadership and direction of Mrs. Moore, Balt soon became the nation's leader in design and production of printer stands for major printer manufacturers. With the growth of the company, Balt became known as a respected source for innovative and dependable products which supported the computer, office furniture and educational industry. The company's primary focus was superior customer service, high quality products, on hand inventory, and prompt drop shipment.
In 1991 Balt purchased Best-Rite Chalkboard, which had originated during the 1950's as a division of American Desk in Temple, Texas. In 1971, investors Frank Butler and Lloyd Niles acquired and incorporated Best-Rite Chalkboard, and from a 53,000 square foot facility, sold and shipped chalkboards and marker boards primarily to Texas and the surrounding geographic areas.
After the acquisition by Balt and a name change to Best-Rite Manufacturing, Best-Rite was patterned after Balt's company philosophy and expanded to nation-wide distribution, broadening its product line to include an array of visual communication products for existing and new markets. Wall mounted writing boards, art display products and easels were some of the new products developed to gain a share of the office products, audio-visual, presentation, hospitality, early childhood and government markets.
Under the direction of Mrs. Moore and her son, Mr. Gregory Moore, Best-Rite grew to become the leading manufacturer of visual communication products for the educational market, supplying the highest quality boards in this marketplace. In making product comparisons, customers considered Best-Rite as "The Better Board".
Along with high quality products, remarkable customer service, product innovation and next day shipment, the company also became a leader in the office product and commercial market. The third phase of its 223,000 square foot manufacturing and warehousing facility was completed in 2007 to support the growth of MooreCo Inc.
The year 2007 saw the retirement of Mrs. Moore from the companies and the subsequent partnering with Webster Capital Investments. MooreCo Inc. still remains under the direction of her son, Greg Moore as CEO. Both the Balt and Best-Rite brands remain focused on value driven, ecologically preferred and ergonomic products for both the school and commercial markets. Mr. Moore's visionary ideas have far outpaced the industry moving Mooreco into a leadership position in innovative and sustainably-focused products.
